Usually slightly charcoal heated, Pailin sapphire is now rare even in Pailin but it is I think the best quality of blue sapphire in the world with often a very nice royal blue which is, according to some, a more valuable than the lovely peacock blue we find in Sri Lanka. Pailin Sapphire quality is now a collector's gemstone.
